Improve Safety Factors to Prevent Driver Fatigue, Elnusa Petrofin Holds Kick Off of Pit Stop Implementation on Blangkejeren Line, North Sumatra

PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk, launched a new initiative focused on improving the safety and wellbeing factors of its Tank Car Crews (AMT) through the implementation of “Pit Stop” starting at Blankejeren Line, North Sumatra. The program officially started at the end of June 2024, as a proactive measure in an effort to mitigate traffic accidents caused by driver fatigue.

The Pit Stop is designed as a rest area facility equipped with various facilities to support driver comfort and safety. Available facilities include a comfortable rest area, food and beverage services, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. This initiative is a tangible manifestation of Elnusa Petrofin’s commitment to maintaining work safety and providing the best service for drivers.

The background of this initiative is due to several incidents of traffic accidents that occurred in the Elnusa Petrofin transportation work area. The incident encouraged the company to make various improvements to reduce the fatigue level of AMTs who are tasked with distributing fuel. Through this Pit Stop, drivers can rest for 6 hours after driving for 12 hours in one 1×24 hour round trip distribution.

This program is also part of Elnusa Petrofin’s strategic plan in providing standardization of facilities, services, and comfort at points where AMTs rest. Not only in North Sumatra, in the future this Pit Stop will also be installed at several other locations in Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

Ferdiansyah, Director of Operations and Marketing of Elnusa Petrofin said “With this Pit Stop, it is expected to improve the safety and welfare of drivers and support the smooth operation of safe and efficient fuel distribution.”
