PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk, made a brilliant achievement in the prestigious 13th Anugerah BUMN 2024, organized by BUMN Track. The event took place at The Westin Hotel Jakarta on Wednesday (13/3), with the main theme “Business Reinvention to Optimize Business Opportunities in Industry 4.0”.
On this occasion Elnusa Petrofin received the 1st Best MSME Development Company Program Award in the “Corporate” Category of SOE Subsidiaries which was handed over directly by Tulus Abadi as one of the Anugerah BUMN 2024 Jury.
The Anugerah BUMN 2024 event is directed to encourage balance in the governance of SOEs and their subsidiaries as well as the principle of sustainability, which has a special responsibility in carrying out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. This CSR program is designed to provide broad benefits to the community, which includes economic, social, environmental, and legal development and corporate governance.
Director of Finance & Administration, Yogi Firdaus when receiving the award directly expressed his appreciation to BUMN Track for the award achieved by his company. This award was received in the category of Best MSME Development Company Program at the 2024 BUMN Award.
Yogi explained that PT Elnusa Petrofin’s flagship program, Asiap (Armada Transportasi Desa Sapa Raya), became one of the added values recognized by the jury. Asiap is a waste control activity through operational waste transportation services by the Sapa Raya Village Waste Awareness Group, which involves 3 villages in Tenga District, South Minahasa Regency, as the Ring 1 area of EPN operations, namely the Amurang LPG Depot.
“This program is able to transport all waste in Sapa Raya Village on a scheduled basis, provide economic profit for this BUMDes Group, and reduce the impact of waste on the environment,” said Yogi.
Previously, waste in the area was disposed of in the middle of the sea from each house, as there was no waste disposal site (TPS) or landfill (TPA) in the area. With Asiap, not only can waste be transported on a scheduled basis, but it also provides significant economic benefits to the local community. Since the program has been inaugurated since 2022, it has successfully facilitated 2,907 people in waste collection, and reduced marine debris by 7.2 tons per month.
The 9 beneficiaries of the Sapa Raya Village Waste Awareness Group formed by EPN were previously only housewives and coconut fruit laborers. From this program they managed to get a new economic profit of 33.6 million per year.
This increase in income is obtained from monthly community waste fees and transportation services through the motorcycle fleet. In addition, the waste collected by the group is successfully utilized into recycle products from plastic waste and the sale of inorganic waste (plastic bottles, glass, paper, cardboard) to middlemen.
Through this activity, PT Elnusa Petrofin hopes to continue to contribute to reducing the volume of waste in landfills (TPA) through innovation in organic and inorganic waste management that has selling value for the group. This is in line with the company’s commitment to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, and point 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities.
With this achievement, EPN continues to strengthen its commitment to contribute to sustainable development and community welfare through the implementation of CSR and the application of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles within the company.
