Elnusa Petrofin Increases Sustainable Social Contribution Through 206 CSR Activities in the 1st Quarter of 2023

PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), is committed to continuing to contribute to the community, especially around the company’s operational areas with a social responsibility or CSR program that is routinely held every month by integrating into the five pillars of Petrofin Peduli.

Head of Corporate Communication of PT Elnusa Petrofin, Putiarsa Wibowo revealed that, throughout the first quarter (Q1) or the period from January to March 2023, EPN has carried out 206 CSR activities in all transportation, KSO, Vendor Held Stock (VHS) and Chemical operating units throughout Indonesia, which grew by 16% compared to the previous year in Q1 2022.

“In its implementation, EPN always adapts CSR implementation to social issues and community needs which also support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as promoting Good Health and Well-Being, improving the quality of Education, and increasing inclusive and sustainable economic growth (Decent Work & Economic Growth),” said Putiarsa.

Various CSR activities provided include the Safety Awareness Program with socialization on the correct use of LPG, Safety Riding, and how to extinguish fire through APAR. In addition, a health program was also developed through Posyandu Home Care as a Door to Door health service and the use of first aid kits as a first aid step.

To support the economic growth of the community, EPN has developed 68 new MSMEs and partnership methods, both in the fields of welding services, food, and crafts. This program targets Youth Organization, Community Groups, Cooperatives, PKK and BUMDes that are developed based on local potential.

Among the featured ones are the development of Songket Ikat Weaving in Manggarai, NTT, MSME Products Crafts Souvenir Products in Gunung Sitoli to a group producing Recycle bag products from plastic waste in Sibolga. This initiative is a tangible manifestation of the company in assisting the community to develop and be independent in sustainable business.

It is estimated that by the end of the second quarter (Q2), CSR activities carried out will continue to increase, including through Berbagi Kebersamaan activities in the month of Ramadan, Petrofin Berkurban, and tree planting actions that will involve more contributors from Operating Units throughout Indonesia.

Through these CSR activities that continue to be held, it is hoped that it can form a mutually beneficial relationship between the company and the community, and help government programs in improving community competence and poverty alleviation through the development of MSMEs.
