Chemical Polymer Enhanced Oil Recovery Agreement, Signing Ceremony Of Elnusa Petrofin and SNF To Support The Target Of Achieving 1 Million Barrels of Oil Production By 2030

PT Elnusa Petrofin and SNF SAS signing an Exclusive Distribution cooperation agreement for the Polymer Injection Enhanced Waterflooding project for the year of 2023-2026.

The signing ceremony was held at SNF Headquarters in Andrezieux, France by PT Elnusa Petrofin President Director Aditya Budi Prabowo and SNF SAS CEO Pascal Remy. The event was also attended by Oki Muraza Senior Vice President of Research Technology & Innovation (RTI) at PT Pertamina (Persero), Charles Harianto Lumbantobing Director of Operations of PT Elnusa Tbk, Pascal Remy CEO of SNF SAS, Flavien Gathier Technical Sales Director of SNF SAS and other members of management.

The main objective of this agreement is to support the Indonesian Government’s program to achieve oil production of 1 million barrels by 2030. PT Elnusa Petrofin and SNF SAS have signed an agreement for cooperation in the Polymer Injection Enhanced Waterflooding project which aims to improve oil recovery and optimize production in oil fields. This technology is a mature technology and has been implemented in many places.

On this occasion, a visit was also made to the laboratory and chemical plant of SNF SAS France to ensure the quality and capacity of the product according to the needs.

The collaboration between PT Elnusa Petrofin and SNF SAS is in line with a shared vision and increases understanding of the implementation of Polymer Injection Enhanced Waterflooding in the Pertamina Group work area. The visit also aims to ensure reliable supply and high quality polymer products and injection equipment required for the Polymer Injection Enhanced Waterflooding project.

In response to this cooperation, Flavien Gathier, Engineering Director – EOR/O&G Applications at SNF SAS, stated, “SNF SAS welcomes the long-term cooperation with PT Elnusa Petrofin and fully supports the implementation of Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (C-EOR), particularly Polymer Injection (Enhanced Waterflooding), in Indonesia.”

While Aditya Budi Prabowo, President Director of PT Elnusa Petrofin stated “We are very enthusiastic about the cooperation with SNF SAS and are confident that this partnership will contribute significantly to the success of future Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery projects in Indonesia.”

The successful implementation of the Polymer Injection Enhanced Waterflooding project will set the benchmark for future C-EOR initiatives particularly in Indonesia.
