Supporting the National Net Zero Emission Program, Elnusa Petrofin Holds Kick Off Planting 1,000 Trembesi Seedlings in Aceh Besar

PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), showed real support for the Government’s Net Zero Emission program through Petrofin Peduli Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by planting 1,000 Trembesi Tree Seedlings in all EPN operational units throughout Indonesia.

This activity was marked by a symbolic kick off of planting 200 trembesi trees by EPN’s Director of Finance & Administration, Hanny Retno Hapsari at Benteng Iskandar Muda Field, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, on Thursday morning (06/15/2023).

This activity was also attended by the Head of the Environmental Service of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, A. Hanan, SP, MM, Head of Banda Aceh Cultural Heritage Center, Secretary of Mesjid Raya Sub-District, Hilmi Shi, Danramil Mesjid Raya, Chief of Police Sector Mesjid Raya, Pak Keucik (Village Head) and the Management of PT Elnusa Petrofin.

The Trembesi Planting Program is also part of a series of 27th EPN Anniversary events, which are packaged in the form of CSR through the Petrofin Peduli Pillar, namely Petrofin Resik.

In its implementation, the Trembesi planting is also coordinated with the relevant offices in their respective regions and is in line with the Blue Sky Program from PT Pertamina (Persero) which aims to achieve Net Zero Emissions before 2060.

This tree planting action is a form of the company’s commitment to the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects in the company and contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at point 13, namely Handling Climate Change. In its implementation, this activity is able to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 0.0011% by absorbing 28,500 tons of CO2eq.

In her remarks, Hanny Retno Hapsari said that the process of planting 200 trembesi seedlings this morning was carried out along the road that became the route of PT Elnusa Petrofin’s Tank Car, especially in the Banda Aceh area. “The planting of trembesi and other carbon emission reduction plants will also be carried out in stages in 82 other Elnusa Petrofin operational areas throughout Indonesia during June-July 2023,” concluded Hanny.

Representative of the Head of the Environment and Forestry Service of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, Eka Nugraha expressed his appreciation and gratitude to PT Elnusa Petrofin for this program and considered this program very important. “Trees have extraordinary benefits in addition to reducing emissions, producing oxygen and so on so that we must also be able to care for and maintain the trees we plant so that the benefits received by planting these trees can have maximum impact” said Eka Nugraha.
