In a continuous effort to support the increase in national oil production and strengthen Indonesia’s energy security, PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN) together with Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR), PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), and PT Pertamina (Persero) Technology & Innovation Function have successfully held Go Live Injection of Simple Surfactant Flooding (SSF) at BL-330 oil well in Rokan Working Area in early June.
This innovation is part of a joint effort to increase national oil production and support Indonesia’s energy security. In line with the national strategic direction in achieving oil and gas production targets and energy independence.
This SSF injection project is a concrete step in the implementation of PHR’s Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (CEOR) strategy aimed at optimising oil recovery from existing fields. EPN plays a central role as the commercial arm, fully responsible for the supply of high-quality surfactant chemicals (PertaCORE), efficient logistics management, and project execution in the field.
The SSF injection Go Live was attended by Pertamina Group management, including Oki Muraza as Pertamina’s SVP Technology Innovation, Lulut Sugianto as Elnusa’s VP Upstream Services, Syaiful Ma’arif as VP S-EOR Regional I Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Andre Wijanarko as General Manager of Rokan Zone – Regional 1 Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Arief Prasetyo Handoyo as Director of Business Development of PT Elnusa Tbk, Doni Indrawan as President Director of Elnusa Petrofin, Ferdiansyah as Director of Operations & Marketing of Elnusa Petrofin, as well as the management and all officers on duty. The presence of these leaders further confirms Pertamina Group’s commitment and full support for innovation and technology in increasing oil and gas production.
This SSF injection is not just a technological breakthrough, but also part of a concrete contribution to the national strategic direction to improve energy security and independence. In line with the government’s target, CEOR is an important step in optimising the potential of mature fields and maintaining the sustainability of domestic energy supply.
