PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA) through the Fuel and Petrochemical Services Department, successfully held the Go Live Initial Distribution with the Truck Loading scheme of Paraxylene products at Vopak Terminal Merak, Banten, at the end of September 2023.
This Go Live is a development of Elnusa Petrofin’s previous business which has been handling stock and distributing Paraxylene through pipes in 2022. This VHS Paraxylene project is the first VHS Petrochemical pilot project at Elnusa Petrofin. This demonstrates Elnusa Petrofin’s commitment in managing projects with Vendor Held Stock (VHS) business schemes that focus on non-BBM products. This business development represents Elnusa Petrofin’s strategic move that has evolved from fuel management into the Petrochemical business.
With this Go Live, Elnusa Petrofin has expanded its business line in the Petrochemical sector. The first distribution was also attended by representatives from Pertamina Petrochemical Trading & customers who were accompanied directly by Petrofin Officers from Fuel & Petrochemical Services, to industrial customers & textile factories, as well as producers of food and beverage packaging raw materials. To date, Elnusa Petrofin has distributed 424,580 Metric Tons of Paraxylene.

Paraxylene itself is the main raw material for producing PTA (Purified Terephtalic Acid) and PET produced from petrochemical refineries. PTA itself is an important component in the textile industry, while PET is often used as raw material for food and beverage packaging. Paraxylene products in this project will be supplied from Refinery Unit (RU) IV Cilacap and TPPI Tuban. Elnusa Petrofin’s business development with the use of Truck Loading scheme allows Elnusa Petrofin to expand its service coverage and provide more flexible solutions to customers.
Going live with the Truck Loading scheme is not only about business development, but also about maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders, including PT Pertamina Petrochemical Trading as the product owner.
