As part of the 2025 Pena Petrofin Awards series, PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN)—a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk—held a media gathering with journalists in Padang, West Sumatra, on Thursday, July 17, 2025. This initiative underscores Elnusa Petrofin’s commitment to strengthening strategic relations with the local media, who have played an active role in promoting positive narratives within the energy sector, particularly across its West Sumatra operations.
The event was attended by Elnusa Petrofin’s Corporate Communication & Relations Manager, Putiarsa Bagus Wibowo; Area II Transportation Operations Manager, Agus Sofyan Manurung; and key media representatives from various local and national outlets operating in the region.

Beyond being a networking forum, the gathering also served to socialize the ongoing agenda of the 2025 Pena Petrofin Awards—launched on June 26—and invited journalists in Padang to submit their best work for the competition.
Carrying the theme “The Journey of Energy Distribution for a Sustainable Nation,” Elnusa Petrofin encouraged the media in West Sumatra to take a broader role in amplifying positive messages related to the energy sector, occupational safety, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and inspiring stories of energy frontliners in the field. The event reaffirmed that the 2025 Pena Petrofin Awards is more than just a journalism competition—it is a form of appreciation, empowerment, and long-term synergy with the media.

A highlight of the event was an inspiring session delivered by Muhammad Nazir Fahmi, Senior Journalist and President Director of Padang Ekspres, who presented a talk titled “AI in Journalism.” In his session, Nazir emphasized that technologies like AI should not be perceived as threats but as tools to enhance journalistic work—making it faster and more accurate, while still upholding strong ethical standards.
Journalists in attendance responded positively to the initiative and appreciated Elnusa Petrofin’s efforts in fostering meaningful collaboration with the press, acknowledging the crucial role of media in the energy sector, and providing a platform that promotes quality journalism.

This event further reinforced Elnusa Petrofin’s commitment to building a collaborative communication ecosystem with the media, while strengthening strategic relationships with journalists in support of its mission to deliver energy across the nation.
